Leadership at Radiant
Radiant Church’s government is made up of three groups. We are guided by pastors, protected by trustees, and strengthened by our overseers.
Our Lead Pastors
David and Renata Perkins married and began full-time ministry together in 2000. While serving together at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, they founded and led Desperation, a national student ministry that reached thousands of young people across the country.
After 15 years of ministry, God placed a burden on their hearts to plant a life-giving church in Kansas City. In 2016, David and Renata—along with their four children, Dawson, Alivia, Adelyn, and Justus—moved to Overland Park, Kansas, with a dream of leading people to become radiant disciples of Jesus.
That dream started as a prayer meeting in their living room, where a small handful of people gathered with hearts hungry for God. As Radiant grew, the church met at Overland Trail Middle School and later Fiorella’s Event Center. Each season was marked by faith, community, and a deep commitment to helping people encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and live on mission.
In 2022, Radiant Church took a major step forward by purchasing our first permanent home at 12140 W. 135th Street in Overland Park: a place to worship, grow, and serve, anchoring Radiant’s heart for Kansas City and beyond.
David holds a degree in religion from Southern Nazarene University and a graduate degree in theology from The King’s Seminary. He also serves on the board of Every Home for Christ International.
Renata is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in English and brings a deep compassion for the wounded and prodigals.
Together, they lead Radiant with a love for Jesus, a heart for people, and a desire to see revival in Kansas City and beyond.
Our Trustees & Elders
Our Trustees are non-staff members of the congregation appointed by the Lead Pastor to oversee the finances and direct the provision of the facilities needed by the church. They provide accountability and counsel to the Lead Pastor as will as protection for the church regarding major fiduciary commitments. Trustees serve four-year terms.
Our Elders provide spiritual protection over the church’s ministry health. They prayerfully support the Lead Pastor and his staff. When necessary, Elders are entrusted to serve as a trusted pathway to the Overseers to help in accountability matters relating to the Lead Pastor.

Our Overseers
Our Overseers are five respected pastors who love Radiant and provide spiritual covering and wisdom. They may be called upon to help in matters of counsel or accountability at the request of the Elders.
